Montefrío is a locality that belongs to the region of the Western Mountains, located to the northwest of the province of Granada. It has a height of 834 meters over sea. It's limited at the North with Alcala La Real and other towns . It covers an area of 250 square kilometers and a population of 6568 inhabitants. It is characterized by the predominance of the agricultural and livestock industry. They emphasize the crops of irrigation, like the wheat and onions. The climate is characterized by a summer drought and an oceanic influence. The village has two primary centers, one secondary and one adult education. It also has a library, a health center and a doctor's office.
